Abdiel
Alias: Abe

An angel and reluctant warrior for Heaven, some say Abdiel was the first Angel created by God. He was a poet before the rebellion and the expulsion of Lucifer. During the rebellion he was forced to slay 25 of his fellow angels singlehandedly with the Sword of Divine Wrath.

After the rebellion, he was charged with the duty of carrying out God's wrath. On a mission to destroy Malebolgia, Abdiel was tricked by the demon into questioning his orders and the will of God. When Abdiel brought his questions to God himself, he was cast out of Heaven and welcomed back to Hell by the arrogant Malebolgia.

Abdiel was fitted with a symbiote - but he did not side with Hell. Instead he chose to lay down his arms and return to his poetry once again.

Abyss, The

It was said that when God created the universe, his presence created a shadow. No light has ever penetrated this blackness called the Abyss. It was within the Abyss that the universe gave birth to sin.

The Abyss may be synonymous with other mysterious locations such as The Black, Sanctuary, The Shadows, and/or The Void but these have not yet been confirmed.

Ada Summers
A fundamentalist Christian working for a "Hell House" in Illinois. The house is set up to scare sinners into becoming Christians, but when Ab and Zab show up at the front door, Ada is rightfully hesitant to allow them entry.

Later, after Ab and Zab open gateways to Hell in the house, Ada walks into her own personal Hell and finds her greatest sin waiting for her. A creature known as a Sin-Eater appears in the form of her childhood principal - Ada lied about the principal once when she was young and it led to him committing suicide.

Mesmerized by the sins of her past, Ada was unaware that the Sin-Eater had latched onto her and began feeding.

Adam

Cog claims that Adam and Eve were created by both God and Satan, and that Adam bedded not just Eve, but at least one of her sisters as well: Lilith.

According to Mother, after Adam and Eve ate from the tree of Knowledge, God began to fear them. Thus he banished them forever from Eden into lives of pain and death. Since that time, no human has set foot in the Garden of Eden.

The Agent

Alias: Inspector Sykes

The mysterious manager of a firm that seemed to hire out super-villains as mercenaries and hitmen. His firm was hired to take out Patient 47 after he re-awoke from a coma, but the hitman that was sent (The Extractor) failed.

Later, the agency sent a man named Malcolm to finish the job. Malcolm was forcibly pulled out of retirement by kidnapping his girlfriend Susan and forcing him to attack Jim Downing to get her back.

Later still, The Agent was revealed to be Inspector Sykes, who was involved with Project Ragnarok as a forensic DNA specialist tasked with finding suitable subjects for the experiments. When the Project was shut down, Sykes created his mercenary business and employed many of his former patients.

After Downing and Tremor tracked Sykes down looking for answers about Raganarok, he appeared to regret his involvement with the program and claimed that he had begun hiring the patients in order to help them.

Unswayed by his apologies, Tremor left Sykes alone with Spawn, presumably to meet his demise.

Agents Hare and Wolf were assigned to keep watch over the comatose man and await his possible recovery. Little did they know that the man they were watching over was none other than Spawn in his Al Simmons persona.

When he came to, the agents were surprised to see their mystery man up and walking. They gave chase, but Al transformed into Spawn and easily swatted them down.

Some time later, after the White Light, Agents Hare and Wolf were assigned to protect and monitor Jason Wynn. When ordered by their boss to murder a bar patron who had been foolish enough to listen to Wynn's stories, Spawn intervened and killed the agents.
